Duffield Facility Overview
Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority - Duffield Facility is a regional jail, not a state prison and not a federal or ICE detention center. It is operated by SWVRJA and serves Scott County along with other Southwest Virginia member jurisdictions. Visit Someone at Duffield Facility
SWVRJA’s published rules emphasize remote video visitation through Smart Communications / SmartInmate. Visits must be scheduled in advance and are subject to monitoring and recording unless a privileged attorney setup applies. Visitors must be on the approved visitor list and must present valid identification such as a driver license, government ID, passport, picture school ID, immigration card, or other government-issued photo ID.

Research did not locate a detailed public Duffield GED, vocational, substance-abuse, religious-service, work-release, or reentry-program schedule. The visitation material notes that court, trustee assignments, CRP programs, or attorney visits can make an inmate unavailable for a video session at a given time, which shows some programming or assignments may affect contact timing.
