Search Terms
When a name, county, or other search detail is entered into a third-party search tool, that query is sent to the provider operating the tool. Scott County Inmate Population does not host the SWVRJA JailTracker roster, VADOC locator, BOP locator, ICE locator, or partner search databases, and it does not keep a separate log of those search terms on its own system.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read it, respond, and manage the request. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, legal process, or a valid government order.
Information Collected During Visits
Basic technical details may be collected automatically when a page loads. These details help operate the site and understand general use patterns.

Virginia public-records requests are governed by Virginia law, including Virginia FOIA Code § 2.2-3704 for request procedures and Code § 2.2-3706 for certain law-enforcement and criminal-record materials. Any information sent directly to a government office is handled by that office, not by this site.
Advertising partners may use their own cookies or identifiers to measure ad performance or show interest-based ads across sites. That tracking happens through their systems, not through a Scott County inmate record database hosted here.
